TrackCars.info is a website dedicated to offering safer ($aver) track cars with race track experience. Cages, racing seats, five-point harnesses and fire system are a must. These afford drivers a higher level of protection than factory safety equipment for High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) events. Many of these cars have racing log books and inspection histories to allow an easier platform, should the driver choose to attend a club racing school. DE or HPDE is a hobby that also has an elevated level of personal injury; there is no way around it. You will go off the track and most of the time it will happen in safe locations at slower speeds. Should you go off in a more complicated situation- will YOU be ready? Here’s a check list: Are you and your passenger protected? • Side impact (you are stationary if another car slides into your door) • Single roll over • Abrupt change in speed, or direction or both • Fire • Multiple roll overs • End over end (a very bad day… Are you ready?) • Hans system/Helmet • Race suit or cotton skin covering and gloves • Do you know the capabilities of the 1st responders / corner-workers and can you manage the exiting procedure out of your car on a hot track? An old corner-worker saying: “Any crash you can walk away from was no accident.” An old race driver saying: “If you can’t vision picking your car up from the crusher, putting a piece of glass over it to use as a coffee table in your motorsports family room…you might want to use a different car.” The best drivers in the world still have to deal with luck…. They do not get into a track car without understanding and complying with the information and risks mentioned above.
